A leak in the valve area of the head... gnarly. 1977 #1206

Post by gabriel.donnelly »

When pumping the head I have noticed a small spray right at the valve location at the "pump wet - pump dry" switch or lever. I'm assuming that it is a gasket repair at most...? Does anyone know the manufacturer of the heads? Has anyone done this repair?

Thanks.

A common toilet is the Jabsco.

They are probably the most inexpensive, but on two different boats I've had problems with them after about a year, and the kits for repair are quite expensive.

On the Ballad I installed a Raritan PHII which has given excellent service for three years so far. Individual parts and seals are less expensive, but I've yet to need any.

On either unit the pump and handle can be easily switched to the opposite side.
That's my only experience with toilets :D
