While building my "stitch-and-glue" holding tank I thought I'd better do some head research, as my experiences with Jabsco manual toilets has not been too good. A little research on the 'net seems to indicate Raritan has a good reputation for a reasonably priced toilet and a complete inventory of repair parts to back it up. I'm looking at the Raritan PHC as a possible candidate for the 'throne', and would like to know if any other Ballad sailors have experience with this brand and model.
Thanks!
Peter.

Re: Head Choices
On my side, I have a RM69 manual toilet, (see http://www.bigship.com/catalogue/wc/wc-manuel-rm69), which works pretty well. I want to had an holding tank made for it (see http://www.bigship.com/catalogue/vie-a- ... r-wc-rm-69), this could be an idea, maybe.

Re: Head Choices
Can't tell if understatement or general consensus. Their reputation is poor, for sure. Could be the design, or maybe there's just so many out there. A toilet is something that has to work every time, tho. Or you will hate it. Seems like the sine qua non is Lavac. Big old Whale 30gpm fire pump. Big old price tag. That Raritan looks like a good mid-range choice; it converts easily to electric, IIRC? That was our chosen model ... until we went crazy with the whole head concept.... my experiences with Jabsco manual toilets has not been too good.
