cooking - new alcohol cooker

Post by fritjof »

Looking to install a new alcohol cooker (two burner type) since the old one is way too difficult to operate (leaky).

I was thinking about the reissue of the Origo 3000 (Oriondo), but don't know if it will fit. Says depth is something like 283mm, which is almost 45 mm more than the old one I have.

Does anybody here know if the new model can be installed easily in a Ballad?

Just saw your post & welcome. Yes, the Origo double burner and its clones fit very well in the Ballad galley. Our hull #18 came with an ungimballed pressurized alcohol stove, but I found a used Origo, built gimbals for it, found a sheet metal liner to go with it, and fit it into the galley with a bit of planning and modification.
