Creating an anchor locker at the bow

This is a test of creating an illustrated posting.

I wanted to add more pictures, so here comes a few. Well pictures are not added where the cursor is positioned, but at the buttom.

Fitting the new bulkhead

A stick is lifting the deck a few mm to better fit the curve of the cutout, wich eventually will serve as a lid (door).

The frame was made on a sheet af "masonit" curved over the cutout, to give it the rigth curve.

I created a number of "tops" or notches tha were all sanded down to a specific hight. I then screwed the frame on to these notches and filled the gap with an epoxy filler made from epoxy and some special fibers from West System.

Plastic pipe containing the wires for the navigation lights. I pulled out the wires a few centimeters, soldered extensions, covered with shrink wrap, and the pushed the connection back in the pipe.

Was this to cater for a different anchor to a CQR? More chain, or better access?

I made this anchor locker, because I was tired of running forth and back with anchor and chain the entire length of the boat. The anchor I used was a local specialty, that jut happened to fit well. I made fixturepoints at which the anchor could be securely fastened, so that it would never rattle around in the anchor locker, potentially chopping holes in the hull, or the bulkward. It's really too bad I do'nt ave more pictures, I really ought to show you the whole thing, including the anchor, and the rolleron the pulpit, ´cause it worked real well for us.
