Re: Urgent!!! Need Help! Rudder / tiler play small vibration when sailing in a good breeze
Gabriel, the rudder has 3 main supports: - at the base of the skeg there is a gudgeon with a bushing . - at the top of the rudder blade, where the rudder shaft enters the hull, there is another bushing. - in the cockpit where the shaft comes through to join with the tiller bracket, is a third bushin...

Re: Seacock drawing
Hi , I don't have a drawing, but on my Ballad (#1085) they are as follows (I replaced all mine so sizes may not be original) - starboard side, forward of the head in the small cubby under the aft end of the V-berth: head water inlet, mine is 3/4" (75mm). - starboard side in the aft side of the ...

Re: Tiller
That's very smart, Peter. Like I say, I can see the benefits of laminating for strength, but I can't help but wonder, if it gets to the point where so much strain is being put into it that a hardwood tiller would snap, it's maybe past time to put in a reef!!?? When you say your previous tille...

Re: Tiller
I had to make a new tiler. The old one was not the original, but it fit well so I copied the shape with the new one. My preference is for a laminated one as it is stronger than a one-piece tiller with a curve in it, unless you can find a naturally curved piece to work with. Mine is a bit on the long...

Re: Volvo penta exhaust elbow (MD6A) out of production - help :)
I found Yanmar elbows at http://hdimarine.net/
I could not find MD6A elbows on the website, but you could contact the owner to check.
Hope this helps.

Re: Propeller axle strut - Ballad
Reading this thread, I can feel the hair on the back of my neck standing up. In May I did a haul-out, and was about to re-launch when I noticed water seeping from a hair line crack on the starboard side of the prop strut. I ground out a large chunk of fibreglass (from a previous PO's repair) and did...

Re: Hatch cover fix or replacement
Bob,
Nice recess in the beam over the entrance to the head/closet area. I may revisit mine with the band saw as my poor old noggin is taking a beating on the nice piece of sapele I installed there!

Re: Cabin Windows
If it's any help, I found this company when I was doing my Ballad restoration. My windows turned out to be OK so I didn't follow up with them.
